Custom projects are not always complex in nature. Some weeks back, we were asked to make a simple feeding stand for a cat named Roo.

Roo was born with two deformed forelegs, which were surgically removed when she was seven months old. She was eventually adopted by her fosterer. Figuring out the best way to feed Roo took a few tries for her human, who made a few prototypes of feeding stands from cardboard. Her latest stand was becoming saggy with use and it was time for a new, sturdy stand.

To improve on her current feeding stand, we added a door to convert the space below into storage for her food. We also rounded the edges where she would lean in to make it easier to feed. It was a simple project, but it brought us profound satisfaction when the owner sent us videos of Roo using the stand!
